Vintage 8

It's a slow food thing.  This is the stove in our back-in-time house at Kandos.  For quite a while I was thinking I would remove it but lately I have taken to lighting the fire and enjoying its gentle warmth and the pots bubbling away on the cooktop.  I think it will stay.

  1. I'd love to have a stove like that. Unfortunately it would be more of a nuisance here on the coast, and my husband can't stand fires of any kind due to sensitive sinuses.

    1. This stove is fortunately not at all smokey but a nuisance it has been. Because it is in the relatively small enclosed kitchen there was no room for the fridge! After much deliberation I decided to remove the gas stove (for summer use) to make room fro the fridge. My solution for that is a portable induction cooktop in the kitchen and a gas bbq on the newly built deck. I am hoping this will prove satisfactory. I guess summer will tell.

    1. You will see in my response above what the problem has been and why I have been wondering whether to keep it. Yes the floor is great. Only recently unveiled from its 1960s tiles which were under even worse 1980s carpet tiles. We lifted the carpet from the whole house and polished the floors.
