Crescendo

Spring at Burnbrae builds to its beautiful best around 22 September every year and this year was no exception.  The cherries are in full blossom, the neighbour's huge crab apple turns on its full display, and the maples are in fresh new leaf.  I also noticed the first azaleas are flowering, a clump of clivias in flower under the lilipillies and the photinia on the southern side is in full flower since last week's round up.

I just wish the weather would settle down though ... very chilly today.

    1. It’s a toss up between spring and fall. Both are delightful times in this garden and their arrival dates as regular as clockwork.

  2. Spring is too fabulous Joan Elizabeth, it's a shame the cherry blossom trees bloom for such a short time but oh la, when they do they are sublime. Love the abundance of azaleas too 🌼🌺🌸

    1. Yes the cherries display is spectacular but short. We are not quite done yet. There is another cherry with a double flower on the driveway that flowers a week or two later.

  3. Your garden looks gorgeous. Our crepe myrtle tree is growing it's spring leaves so it's definitely warming/brightening up.

    1. I don’t have crepe myrtle at Burnbrae but there are a row of them in front of Rose Orchard Haus. They are still sticks but should change soon.

    1. They sure add a bright spot to a dull day and when the sun shines even more magic.
