An outing

Bowral NSW
The weather has turned cold and grey again so rather than sitting around home feeling dull like the weather we decided to go on an outing. We took the train to Bowral to see their annual tulip display.
After taking in the tulips we had lunch in one of the many, many cafes in the town, visited a couple of bookshops then did the 4.5 hour trip home again to Lawson - a lovely day out.

  1. Oh dear, I hadn't realised how busy I have been and missing out on your wonderful spring posts. This past weekend was spent in Parramatta, for our nephew's wedding. I was surprised at how little 'spring' had arrived in both the temperature and flora. I delighted in the spectacle of wisteria, seen in abundance.

    1. In Sydney there is never as much spring as in the colder areas. As for the weather - it comes and goes but for a Queenslander it would feel pretty cool either way. Wisteria is in bloom in the lower mountains but still not out at Burnbrae.

    1. Yes a near perfect list - train travel, gardens, books and eating in cafes all with a camera and knitting on hand😀

  3. Joan,
So glad you enjoyed your visit to Bowral. I live in this lovely town, and which certainly comes to life at this time of the year, mind you there is always something happening.
    All the best!

  4. This is beautiful! I love tulips. There's a big tulip growing area a couple of hours from us but it's a drive and a (sometimes unreliable) ferry ride away.

    1. They certainly put on a colourful display and worth the trip even with an occasional transport delay.
