Brown Cuckoo-Dove
This week's bird shot is of a Brown Cuckoo-Dove taken a Burnbrae. It will be a few more weeks before we see leaves return to the trees so I am making the most of grabbing shots without having to contend with leaves.
At Burnbrae the trees just outside my windows and the neighbours have been feeding the birds so there are quite a few of them and they tend to sit for a while. But only the big birds.
I a working hard on my bird shots. I however have a problem because the auto focus on my long lens is not working properly and can't be fixed ... too vintage according to the camera people.
My bird app describes the colour on its back as coppery rufous (looked up rufous and that is reddish brown). The under parts are said to be cinnamon-buff. They must have fun figuring out all those colours.
He/she is a beauty all puffed up to keep warm there Joan. It's certainly easier to get bird shots at this time of year ✨
ReplyDeleteThe good news it is getting warmer each day.
