Crimson Rosellas
Crimson Rosellas
This week's bird shot is another easy one to catch even though Rosellas are quite skitish. These beautiful birds frequent all three of our gardens. I found these this afternoon at Rose Orchard Haus.
I occasionally find blue feathers and pick them up to use as bookmarks. Come to think of it I never find red ones. Must be because they are on a different part of their body.
I love our local birds but these certainly make them look pallid by comparison. Even our beautiful gold finches aren't as striking. These are really beautiful.
I have been posting 'big birds' lately because they easiest to photograph but I really like the small birds. I am sure I would love to see your gold finshes.
Hi Sue, thanks for popping by. I am told red always makes a photograph pop and the fact that the sunlight was lighting the grass in the foreground was a bonus for this one.
Lovely colourful birds; happy to see them here on your post.
ReplyDeleteI am always happy to see them too, no matter how many times I see them.
DeleteAmazing colors.
ReplyDeleteI never cease to be amazed at the colours of parrots.
DeleteThey are stunning birds
ReplyDeleteAt Kandos we also occasionaly see Eastern Rosellas which I am fairly sure you have featured on your blog. I hope to catch a photo of them one day.
DeleteI had a flock of Eastern Rosellas in my garden this past week, as well as those beautiful Crimson Rosellas.
ReplyDeleteThat’s interesting I have only seen an Eastern Rosella once at Burnbrae.
DeleteIt never ceases to amaze me how beautifully coloured the Rosellas are, super shot Joan Elizabeth ✨
