Feasting

Pho 68 Vietnamese Restaurant Lithgow

It was another grey day yesterday. It's hard to feel inspired to do things when (while I am thankful for the rain) all I want is for wintery weather to go away for the year.  I could have sat around and read a book or knitted but we decided that I could still do that on the train and have moving scenery thrown in.  So despite having travelled to Sydney three days in a row we decided to jump on the train again yesterday and go west to Lithgow for lunch.

Reflection:
Luke 13:29-30 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus said "People will come from east and west and north and south, and will take their places at the feast in the kingdom of God. Indeed there are those who are last who will be first, and first who will be last.”

  1. Ages since I've been to Lithgow. I don't remember any fancy restaurants.

    1. This is no fancy restaurant, more or less like the local Chinese. However Lithgow is quite a vibrant city and there are some lovely cafes and restaurants.

  2. We drove through Lithgow five weeks' ago on our way to Rydal. It was very wet and we didn't stop. It's been a while since we have actually stopped in Lithgow. We have been there on the train and had lunch in the Workers' Club.

    1. We go through Lithgow often because it is in the way to Kandos. We did consider retiring there but its winters are very cold and it is a bit too much of a city for us. It does however have the benefit of being on the train line.

  3. A train trip, good food in a colourful happy atmosphere, sounds like a pretty good way to spend a rainy day to me Joan Elizabeth 😊

  5. We're remote enough that we don't have much public transportation, and certainly don't have trains. I suspect we'd get around more if we did.

    1. It is wonderful where we are. 100kms from the centre of Sydney so far enough away to be a bit country but close enough to be on the intercity train network. When we are out at Kandos which is really in the country (a further 150 Kms away) the public transport is restricted to a daily bus service which many years ago replaced the trains.
