Old stuff 15

I spotted these suitcases outside an antique shop in Lithgow on Saturday - very vintage smart and cool.  When I left home I had a cardboard one more like the brown one at the back but a nice bright red. I've still got it in the storeroom, currently stuffed with abandonded craft projects. Must get to them sometime soon and decide on their fate.

  1. Those green suitcases in the photo look very much like a set of blue leather suitcases I had when I left home to spend a year overseas. I loved them and thought they looked very smart.

    1. Great. I was going to ask what type of suitcase readers left home with. Blue leather would have looked very smart.

    1. I used to love searching antique shops when I was furnishing my mountains house but when it got full had to stop and now I am downsizing I could just about set one up.

  3. It shows our age when we see stuff in antique shops that we used to use. I had white leather ones similar to the green ones.

    1. It is a bit of a surprise to move on from seeing what my parents and grandparents used to stuff I used myself.

  4. As a very young kid I had a red one!
Guess you can call it antique now, too ;-)

    1. I think the time from modern to antique is getting shorter every day.

  5. Those look very 1970s. Our family had a set of molded grey ones. I can't remember having one of my own until much, much later. Now what I use keeps getting smaller and smaller as they shrink overhead spaces on airplanes. I hate to check bags.

    1. I have to say I am real glad I don’t have to catch planes these days.
