Bookshop

Leura has a very good bookshop, Megalong Books.  Would you choose any of these titles? I would probably go for the new Markus Zusak Bridge of Clay but I am still busy reading classics right now.

A book I have read recently
This week I decided to attack a British novel. I will show you my British list next week. In the meanwhile I boosted it by reading Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf.  What an odd novel. It tells no story, just meanders in an out of people's minds. I am not a fan.

  1. I remember poking around in that bookshop. Lovely.

    1. It is quite a small overcrowded space with lots of reading gems so poking around is a good description.

  2. I used to love bookshops and could spend whole lunch hours in them at one time. Not so much now.

    1. We still love them but are trying to curb our spending in them a little. We do a big buy up at Christmas time as our gift to each other. Looking forward to doing that soon.

  3. I wish I had more time for reading. Off camping next week so have to find time for a visit to our local library before I go. Markus Zusak would be my choice too.

    1. Camping is a great time to catch up on reading and craft projects but I find I need several days to wind down first.

  5. Oh, these days amazon and kindle is such an easy thing! For books of my city, though... my real bookshop is a must! In the heart of the city, too (and btw, just to "make up" - the shed my cousin and I investigated was abandoned, no one´s property no more).

    1. Electronic reading just isn’t the same! I have been reading the classics as free ebooks. But for a modern book I will always choose a real one. Browsing a bookshop is such a pleasure that I can’t replace with a web search. .

  7. It looks like an outstanding store, well worth pawing through. I've gotten spoiled. We're in an avid reading community that contributes books to our library for monthly sales. I'm able to find armloads of great books for a pittance. It's irresistible.

    1. That does sound irresistible though I always like the joy of cracking open a brand new book.

    1. Have never read Hemingway. You are making me think hard about getting to him soon.
