Fragrance

Oh I wish I could transmit fragrance via the web.  The Sweet Peas from my Kandos garden smell so wonderful -- takes me back to spring fetes when I was kid.

The vase is on the window sill of our Kandos kitchen which overlooks the citrus trees.  For the past couple of weeks opening the back door has let in the wonderful fragrance of orange blossom.

I have been trying to capture the wonderfulness of the rose garden too. Here is my latest attempt, I think I need lessons on garden photography.

    1. You are of course politely ignoring the unmowed lawn beside the rose garden😀

  2. Oh yes Joan, I can definitely smell those pretties in your vase. Sweet peas were always in our garden when growing up... they are childhood flowers for many aren't they. It's a lovely photo.
Your rose garden is so beautiful... they're thriving!

    1. They are an old fashioned flower and so in keeping with the mid-century house.

  3. Oh, sweet peas! My plans for them this year didn't materialize. Yours look heavenly, an inspiration. And your roses look spectacular. I'd love to sniff my way through your garden.

    1. I am pleased to have them this year. I planted seeds the previous year but due to lack of water or some such thing didn’t get any.

  4. Sweet peas are my favourite flower. Every year I have grown them since we were married, but this year (for the first time ever) I did not plant any. Oh, how I miss them. I used to put them in a vase, like you on the windowsill, with a view of our garden in the background. BTW your roses look magnificent.

    1. Mentioning your Dad reminded me of how my Dad used to put the first spring of orange blossom on my Mums “morning cup of tea in bed” tray as a token of his love. Sweet memory.
