Old stuff 21

Being just 8 kms apart, Kandos and Rylstone are separate towns but share infrastructure such as the local hospital.   Kandos is quite a new town (founded in 1914) whereas Rylstone started in the 1830s and many of the old standstone buildings remain.  It's a delightful picturesque touristy town.  My image shows just a small number of the old buildings in the main street.

    1. I hadn’t noticed them. I guess I am so used to verandahs on older buildings.

  2. I can't remember whether I have been to Rylstone but I know I have been to Kandos so I guess if they are so close I must have passed one to get to the other!

    1. Entering Kandos from the direction of the mountains you would not necessarily go through Rylstone. It would depend on where you went onto next.

  3. If that car weren't there one could easily imagine being in another era. Nice!

  4. Love old stuff Joan Elizabeth 😊 Thank heavens they preserve so much these days, although I bet many a treasure gets demolished!

    1. I reckon there is a 60 year thing. If they last 60 years there is a good chance they have a long term future.
