Elegance

The
Eastern Great Egret
We spotted this beautiful bird on our stroll in Lawson Park, Mudgee.  We also saw one when we were walking around Wentworth Falls lake later in the week.

They make me think of beautiful ballerinas. I love the look of ballerinas but don’t actually like going to ballet much.   Do you enjoy ballet?

  1. Yes I love the ballet. We saw the Russian Ballet at the Hub in Springwood last year dancing Nutcracker. It was mesmerising. Such a visual form of the arts. My husband loves it because he is quite deaf and with the ballet he doesn't have to concentrate on hearing the words, as in plays and musicals. Also the music is always such an outstanding feature of the ballet.

    1. I get bored with just about all forms of musical theatre. I want to do other things while I listen, like I can at home.

  2. They are elegant Joan Elizabeth. Your comparison with ballet dancers is perfect, slim and long legged . We went to a ballet concert last weekend and another tomorrow. I have four great nieces who dance, lot's of end of year concerts 💙

  3. Very graceful!

My inclination of ballet would be go for the music, get a box seat where I can watch the orchestra.

  4. This is a beauty. Most of the egrets we see here are smaller.
I love ballet though I haven't seen a full one in ages. My husband isn't a great fan. I've rented a number of DVDs documentaries about dancers and dance companies and really enjoyed them. It's quite an arduous discipline.
