Walking in the Rain

Not daunted by they rain, we've been keeping up with our walking.

Going up to the shops to pick up fresh bread from the bakery.  There is nothing quite like a country bakery.

A poem for today
Rain Poem by Robert Louis Stevenson.  It is so short here it is.
The rain is raining all around,
It falls on field and tree,
It rains on the umbrellas here,
And on the ships at sea.

  1. The poem by Robert Louis Stevenson is one that you think you could do so much better. I have been to many poetry workshops and I just know if I wrote a poem like that I would be made to feel slightly ridiculous. But because it was written by Robert Louis Stevenson, he can be forgiven. Maybe it was one of his earlier poems!

    1. Grin. It is from a Child’s Garden of Verses so he can be forgiven for it being simple. I liked it as a child and still like it for its exhubernce and the quirky way it jumps from the land to the sea.

I agree, I would not show up to a poetry workshop with this one. Either it would be treated as ridiculous or analysed for something deep and meaningful that just isn’t there. Not that I have ever attended a poetry workshop.

    1. Agree. The only problem is that it is not possible to eat all of a loaf in one day so the next day is not so fresh.

  3. The mist against the high ground makes for a good shot.

    1. Thanks William. It was actually the mist that inspired me to take the shot but the mist on its own was too boring.

  4. I love - and miss - rain! In the Atherton Tablelands we once found "le petit pain" at a very small Coles. It was like our Brötchen and we stayed a day just for having that again :-)
