Ah! Sunflower

All of the sunflowers are out along the garage wall now.  There has been a little bit too much sun lately, the weather has been extremely hot but before the latest blast we got a few of storms to dampen things down in readiness.

A poem for today
Ah! Sunflower by William Blake

  1. So beautiful! The chairs, I guess, can be a danger in that heat, though? ;-)

    1. Don't sit on them when they are in the hot sun, wait for the shade of the house to go on them.

    1. I am wondering why they are bowing g their heads. Just top heavy with seeds I guess.

  3. I understand sunflowers follow the sun with their blossoms. Are yours just getting started? If so, they may raise their heads in time. Their seeds mature over summer.

    1. They do seem to follow the sun but with their heads down. Started with their heads up (like the two at the end) then bowed down as they grew.

  4. Don't they look lovely all in a row there Joan Elizabeth. We've been pretty lucky so far this summer, apart from a few hot days over the weekend.. 21C tomorrow with rain. But we still have February to come 😱

    1. Oh yes. February. Given January I wonder what that will bring.
