Colourful birds

Rainbow Lorrkeet

My Canadian niece was delighted with the colourful birds we have in Australia.  Such a shame this one didn't appear when she was here.  We rarely see them in our garden.

  1. They are beautiful, and funny.
Since a squirrel visited, my tiny birds don´t come anymore, guess the squirrel marked it as his...

  2. We don't get many Rainbow Lorikeets either. But, just lately, I've had a few visiting my flowering Turpentine and also bathing in my birdbath. I have been madly taking photos of them and have posted some on instagram. They are such colourful birds, like clowns of the birdworld!

    1. I read a few years ago that they were moving into the mountains. Looks like they might be if we are both seeing them.

  3. They love the Brisbane area and are often in our garden. Large groups visit the golf course trees regularly. They can be very noisy at sunset, when they flock together.

    1. All of the parrot family like to be noisy. I guess we have to put up with that if we want to enjoy their lovely plumage😀

    1. A rich colour combination, such a surprise to see them all together even for those of us that are used to colourful birds.
