We have had a few storms lately - thunder, lightning and lots of heavy rain - feels like Queensland.
This is a view of one of them advancing towards us at Rose Orchard Haus.
A poem for today
A Thunderstorm by Emily Dickinson
Everyday delights in Penrith, Kandos in mid-western NSW and beyond
Unfortunately this part of Queensland hasn't had decent rain for a while and everything is drying out. The coast has had more as usual so hopefully we will get a few summer storms in the coming weeks. We need to bring the water from up north down to the south :-)
ReplyDeleteI hope some of it goes your way soon.
DeleteAlways such a nice feeling when you´re cozily inside in such weather.
ReplyDeleteYes and with a good view to watch the show.
DeleteThe next few days sound horrific with 40 degree temperatures coming! Maybe we'll get some more storms.
ReplyDeleteThe weather does look like it will be a scorcher but unfortunately they are not predicting rain. At least the land has been given a good soaking before the heat.
DeleteNo rain on the coast here in the last few days and none in the forecast for the next week.
ReplyDeleteUnlucky you. We had lots of rain in the mountains and a few good storms at Kandos. But earlier on you guys were getting rain I think when we were still high and dry.
DeleteIt might feel like Qld, but we have had an absence of storms since well before Christmas. We are definitely watching the radar for more. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteOne day soon you will see those big green clouds roll in again along with the claps of thunder.
DeleteThat's my kind of weather Joan Elizabeth.. gorgeous pastel colours in this shot ✨
ReplyDeleteIt was particularly lovely. I called my husband to have a look that day.
DeleteIt refreashing after a storm.
ReplyDeleteCoffee is on
Refreshing given the very hot days we have been experiencing.
DeleteSuch a great shot Joan... what a view!
ReplyDeleteThe views are lovely in all directions at this home.
DeleteVery dramatic!
ReplyDeleteGot a lot noisier after this and the mountain obscured.
DeleteExciting and dramatic, but these storms can be worrisome, especially if the weather's been dry. Lightning has been the cause of some of our wildland fires in the Pacific Northwest.
ReplyDeleteThey start fires around here too but I just checked the website and things are looking ok right now.
