Street Library

We spotted this street library when we were walking in Mudgee.

A book I have read recently
I understand that Thea Astley won four Miles Franklin  Awards which has only been matched by Tim Winton.  I have never read any of her work so decided it was time to address this.  It's Raining in Mango is a saga covering four generations of colonial and indigenous families in North Queensland.  It was rewarding reading.

  1. I have seen a couple of street libraries recently. One in Berry and one in Tamarama. I wonder if people use them?

    1. This is the first one I have seen. I don't know if they are used. There were a few books in this one ... light fiction so probably of interest to people.

    1. What is interesting about them is their unique and quirky sense of style.

  4. That is so cute, our library sells "old" books extremely cheaply, and I often peruse those shelves. Most of the time I order books from the library and just go and pick them up. I have just ordered Its raining in Mango - that sounds like a good read - thank you!

  5. Grace had a very cute little free library on her blog recently. I love the diversity of these little libraries.
