Autumn colours
The marigolds are flowering prolifically at Rose Orchard Haus at the moment. These wonderful little plants self seed so I get pretty flowers without any trouble on my part. They are the colours of Autumn, though 'Autumn colour' is still a little way off.
Perhaps it is too cold or maybe the variety. I was looking up the web the other day and there are several different types of marigold. At another house I have lived in there were yellow marigolds and they also self seeded. I make sure I shake off all of the seed onto the ground (and under the mulch) when the plants are spent so I get more next year.
The marigolds are so cheerful Joan Elizabeth, self seeding too.. bonus 😉
ReplyDeleteIt is always good to not have to buy/plant each year.
DeleteLove.
ReplyDeleteI love too.
DeleteThey are pretty!
ReplyDeleteSurprisingly pretty for such a humble flower.
DeletePretty, practical. Beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI am going to explore more 'cottage garden' plants like this.
DeleteBright and beautiful. Mine don't self seed. I wonder if it's too cold over our winter.
