Wishing Tree
I was in the city this week and see the Christmas Tree at QVB has been replaced by a Wishing Tree to celebrate Lunar New Year. People can leave their wishes at the wishing station on Level 2.
I am not that keen on fake blossom but the effect within this building is lovely.
I have just discovered from Jim’s blog that the blossoms are made from tiny pink piglets for the year of the pig so I guess I think the blossom is more special now 😀
That is so interesting re the 'pig blossoms'. I have a friendship group called 'Pigs' and I am in the process of writing a blog about them and why our title. A it is the year of the Pig, when the group meets at my house in April, I am having a 'Pig' theme. I will have to google to see if I can create these pigs too.
A week or so before I get back to Sydney. I actually like to avoid the place but medical appointments abound as we get older. If I get a chance I will look at them more closely.
Nice perspective for your shot. I wouldn't have guessed that it wasn't a real cherry tree or that the blossoms were little pigs. Do share on this blog if you manage to make tiny pigs for your April group.
A wishing tree sounds a good idea. Did you leave a wish?
ReplyDeleteNo. I didn’t even know it was a wishing tree until I got home and looked it up.
DeleteA lovely tree and beautiful building

DeleteMy favourite building to visit when in Sydney!
ReplyDeleteMine too though I also like the art gallery but it is a bit out of the way so don’t go there often.
DeleteJim's photoblog features this one today too.

I am a regular follower of Jim. He has been doing some great posts on the Lunar New Year.
DeleteOh, return and have a look again (and make a wish) - it's beautiful!!! Like our cherry trees in spring!

ReplyDeleteIt is one of the blog followers having the April group but I will see if I can get a closer shot when I am next in Sydney.
