Back on track

This weekend I went out an took a few shots around Kandos to get my blog back on track.  This is the avenue of poplars at the entrance to Kandos.  In the next few weeks they will all become lovely and golden.  On our drive from Lawson to Kandos I notice that quite a lot of the poplars are colouring up now.

Reflection:
Proverbs 3:6 King James Version (KJV)
"In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."

  1. Welcome back. I hope you enjoyed your break. I would love to live somewhere, where I could enjoy autumn's arrival ,instead of this week's humid record breaking high temperatures.

    1. I'm envious. Poplars are so majestic as a driveway tree.

    1. We all seem to like a sense of order in our trees. But then again I like the disorderly look of the bush too.

  4. Poplars are showy harbingers of fall.

    1. Yes very showy. Interestingly in the mountains they don't colour up, they just drop their leaves. West of the mountains they give us lovely golden colour. I am not sure of the reason, probably to do with the colder nights and less moisture.

  5. It is 35C here at the moment so I am not sure if we have any trees changing colour at the moment but there probably are. I should take more notice when I am going past one of our many parks.

    1. As far as I know the trees change colour based on a number of things ... the length of the daylight (that doesn't change from year to year), the amount of cold and moisture. The season will be at its best when there is cold dry weather. Our trees at Burnbrae tend to colour up at the same time each year but the intensity of colour varies from year to year. I don't really know the habits of the trees at Rose Orchard Haus, I think because they don't put in a great colour display for some reason, I will look harder at their colour and timing this year ... certainly no colour changes at the moment.

  6. Love an avenue of tall trees Joan Elizabeth, always an impressive sight. I was out looking for autumn trees today also, for an autumn headed shot, no luck still another week or two before we get the full autumn colour 🍁

    1. Could be more than a week or two. The best colour in my mountain garden is around 20th of May!
