I was delighted with this mural on the public toilet block at Ulladulla. I imagined the excitement of the little boy lifting the curtain of the sea and seeing the wonderful sea creatures below.
When I got closer I saw he is discovering cigarette butts and plastic bottles. Oh why does everything have to be so PC these days!
A poem for today
On the Sea by John Keats.
Yes. Sad. Beautiful and sad. Clever, too.
ReplyDeleteYes I think it is clever.
DeleteQuite unusual.
ReplyDeleteIt is delivering the message the council wanted quite effectively.
DeleteGosh this is so beautifully done Joan Elizabeth. It highlights the problems our generation are creating for the younger generation coming along!
ReplyDeleteYes I think it is cleverly done.
DeleteIt's a nice mural. I don't think of it as "p.c." so much as an attempt to get people to think twice. We may not always see it but seas are drowning in trash.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that I like to be enchanted -- I would believe in fairies if I could.
DeleteIt's beautifully done Joan, love the pastel colours. If you see more murals you might want to join Monday Murals in my blog.
ReplyDeleteI was going to then forgot to do the link. I will do so if I post any more murals on a Monday.
DeleteVery cleverly done to raise awareness of waste. I really like it.
