I decided to go look for a mural in Lawson so I could join Sami's Monday mural meme. This is a very long mural along the wall of the railway workshops at Lawson. There are skaters spinning and jumping along its whole length. I love to see them as my days of that kind of agility are long gone.
A poem for today
Youth and Age by Vance Palmer
Oh, yes! I was around 14, I think, when I had a skateboard and I was never that skilled! "Cool" mural.
ReplyDeleteI never had one. I am sure they existed but had not reached "out bush" where I lived as a child.
Deletelooks fun
ReplyDeleteI am amazed at how skilled skateboarders are.
Deletebeautiful mural
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteVery nice paintings to look at.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteI like it but a bit more vivid colors let it more speak out.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very old mural and the colours have faded over time.
DeleteYesterday I was crossing the Goodwill bridge in Brisbane and a skateboarder went passed on the incline. I suddenly realised he wasn't using his feet. Very quiet so must have been electric.
ReplyDeleteElectric skateboards!
DeleteDramatic use of the space!
ReplyDeletebest... mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Yes it is. Much better than a long blank wall.
Delete...leaping off the wall.
ReplyDeleteClever.
DeleteGreat find Joan. I would be too scared to skate, I prefer my feet on the ground. Thanks for contributing.
ReplyDeleteGlad to participate Sami. My arm is still recovering from a fall months later. I was just walking, I can't imagine what damage being on wheels would do to me.
DeleteIt's very well done.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It is well done and sadly not in a very prominent place at all so not a lot of people would enjoy it.
DeleteThat's a very cool mural Joan Elizabeth, my problem is lack of sense of balance 😀
ReplyDeleteMy sense of balance seems to get worse with age.
