Apple Tree

As regular readers will know, on Tuesday I like to show what's happening in my gardens.  At Rose Orchard Haus the apple tree is the last of the trees kissing Autumn goodbye.  I moved the begonias that usually sit near this seat under cover but were bitten by the frost anyway.  Despite the heavy frost each day I am lucky enough to still be able to collect enough rose buds to fill a vase - not for long though.

    1. I thought so too so figured I could risk one more autumn leaf shot for the year.

  2. Such a pretty scene Joan Elizabeth, must be lovely sitting under the apple tree in summer. I still have a few roses too, almost time to prune them though.

    1. I won't be pruning until August, too much frost to do it earlier. Another month of rest before then.

    1. Yes it is an old tree. Unfortunately I am not up to pruning it properly so it is fast becoming a shade tree.

    1. By now the romance is a little cold, almost all of the leaves are now on the ground.

  5. Autumn is now a distant memory in our garden. All my deciduous trees are now standing stark and bare.

    1. At Lawson the big Liquid Amber is still in about 50 percent leaf. The rest of the deciduous trees are winter bare.
