Welcome to Winter - Flu Time

Fortunately I don't have the flu but I did pop over to Rylstone Hospital to get my annual flu jab. Despite it being a grey day my eye was taken by the light and the mountains - such a lovely part of the world.

  1. It is lovely indeed.
Luckily I didn´t need a flu jab. Last time I was knocked out a bit for over a week from it!

    1. I've only had a flu injection twice (since I reached the magic age of 65 when they say we should do it). I am glad to say I did not get an adverse reaction on either occasion.

    1. No lawn mowing is one of the greatest joys of winter! I hope the jab works for both of us.

  4. I never used to get the flu jab but after having the flu two years ago I decided that it was orobably a good idea now that I have turned old and grey. LOL!

  5. Beautiful light!
I worked at two different high schools in my 50s and seemed to pick up every illness that circulated in the building. I started getting flu shots then. They're no guarantee but I assume they keep it from being too onerous.

    1. As I understand it will help us develop antibodies for the expected flu strains but can't protect us from any that emerge later in the season. Here's hoping nothing new emerges. I can generally shake of illness quite quickly but it takes my husband months to recover.
