Another day, another town. This time it's Trundle (population 600) about 60 kms from Parkes. Trundle is reputed to have the longest hotel verandah in NSW. It also has a very wide main street. Lots of towns out west have wide streets but this one is the widest I have ever seen.
That sure is a long verandah
ReplyDeleteIt must be a pain to keep in a good state of repair.
DeleteYes, those are seriously wide streets. I like the building.
ReplyDeleteVery wide. In addition to the width of the main road there are service roads behind the row of parked cars!
DeleteIt would be comfortable to drive there.
ReplyDeleteIt should be pretty hard to crash.
DeleteOh, my! I love the verandah, but crossing the street must be a pain!
ReplyDeleteLots of Roadtrains passing through or is there a different reason for such a wide road?
It is not far enough west for the big road trains (at least I didn't see any). The wide road is just a historic thing apparently, there was plenty of space so they made the roads wide. Any yes it is a pain crossing the street.
