Anticipation

It's cold outside.

After a look at the weather forecast we decided to be in our Kandos home this weekend.  While Lawson and Kandos are both at 700 metres elevation so have somewhat similar weather, the Kandos house is much easier to heat being a smaller home with smaller rooms and lower ceilings.

After one look outside this morning when I took this photo (from inside) I decided to not budge out there all day.  For a brief time around midday it was even snowing - a rare event.

The good news you can see in this photo, the almond tree is in blossom - spring is on its way.

Reflection:
Micah 7:7 New International Version (NIV)
"But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord,
I wait for God my Savior;
my God will hear me."

  1. No snow here but the wind is icy. There was talk of snow in Stanthorpe tonight though. We will see. Hope you are warm.

  2. The Almond tree looks beautiful. It's really cold in the Mountains today. We are only 370 metres, so no chance of snow, thank goodness!

    1. In 28 years I have only seem snow falling a few times as low down as Lawson. Regardless I am sure it was cold at your place too.

  4. The best kind of snow is the kind that doesn't stick. And it's always nice to stay in when the weather is looking chilly and uninviting.

    1. Staying in was the perfect choice for the day even though we missed church. Saw one of the other churchgoers at the bakery today, she stayed home too. I think there might have been just a few hardy attendees this week. We of course are unused to such weather, unlike you guys.

  5. Probably a good choice, Joan. It was very blowy and icy here in the coast but not as cold as the mountains.

    1. I see it only got to 2.5C at Mount Boyce yesterday. At least it got to 5C here.

  6. Oh I was really hoping it would snow when we were there Joan Elizabeth, it's been such a long time since I've seen snow it would have been so much fun with the grandchildren ✨

    1. There is always a much better chance of snow in August rather than July. But either way it's pretty much chance.

    1. I do too but prefer it in the warmer weather when I can sit on the deck and enjoy it.

  8. And here the leaves fall down, autumn is on the way... Hopefully no snow this winter (or ever again).

    1. I guess the only way to avoid winter is to do what some of my friends do ... swap from the Southern to Northern hemisphere on a 6 monthly basis ... but endless summer would be a tab boring I think.
