I agree it is unusual. The women don't reflect the typical demographic of the city. Also a whole alley of street art that would look just fine in Melbourne is also unusual.
I live here and didn't know about it! It is tucked behind the main street shops in Katoomba. If I had known it it existed I would have been sure to let you know since I know you are a keen follower of street art. You will have to visit again.
Stunning is right. And a very interesting shot.
ReplyDeleteSince these paintings are down a rough alley on the back of buildings I am never quite sure you to compose the shot to do justice to the artwork.
DeleteAn unusual scene for Katoomba.

DeleteI only can go with you and Kay! Nothing more to add!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it.
DeleteThese are incredibly realistic and beautiful. What a different world than I'm used to. I LOVE this mural.
ReplyDeleteIt is the realism and the placement of the faces that appeals to me.
DeleteReally good done.
ReplyDeleteI am surprised at how good the artwork is in this alley.
DeleteWell painted, a bit grimm images....
ReplyDeleteI don't see them as grim. But if they are it is possibly a statement on refugees.
DeleteA very striking work.
ReplyDeleteI find it striking too.
Delete...forced into the shadows.
ReplyDeleteI guess it depends on your perspective.
DeleteLove it! It would fit right in here with the large number of refugees we have.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Toowoomba had taken in lots of refugees. What a lovely welcoming city.
DeleteStunning, indeed
ReplyDeleteI am glad you like it.
DeleteWhat a fabulous discovery Joan Elizabeth, I'm surprised I missed it when we were there in July ✨

DeleteI love the artwork Joan.
ReplyDeleteAs an artist I am sure you appreciate the work that has gone into this.
DeleteHaunting comes to mind with this one.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good description.
DeleteI'm always stunned by the size but incredible detail and realism of street and silo art. This is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I can't imagine doing an artwork on such a huge scale.
DeleteYou found some superb work there.
ReplyDeleteThere are more in the alley which I will show in future weeks.
