OK a book doesn't belong on the window sill but it was a way of combining this week's book with a view of the flowering cherry outside the window.
A book I have read recently
Having read the Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood very recently even though it was written 30+ years ago, it was a surprise to find a sequel has just been released with much fanfare.
It was a good read but for me lacked the power of the original. It left me wondering whether I really needed it. I liked the inconclusive ending of the first book and I am not sure I was ready for the redemption of the terrifying Aunt Lydia in this one.
Love the Cherry blossom, not sure about the book.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't bother with the book unless you have been following the series.
DeleteI read the first book years ago in high school.
ReplyDeleteSince is was a long time ago when you first read it I doubt you would get much from the sequel.
DeleteI don´t know the books, but I think a book belongs to where it looks good :-)
ReplyDeleteI have some favs "on display", too. A shame what kindle does - and yes, I use kindle, too. So practical when you´re outside. Shame on me, kinda...
I read books on my iphone when I don't want the extra weight of a book in my handbag.
DeleteI haven't read the book and didn't watch the show on TV but it seems to be very popular. Love the blossoms at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteIt was a popular TV series - but freaked me out - I found reading the stories more to my taste. Spring is the best.
DeleteI love the little glass birds on the windowsill.
ReplyDeleteThose little birds are an absolute favourite of mine. I have a love affair with glass objects.
DeleteThe blossom is lovely but your 2 glass birds are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe birds are so delicate I always worry about breaking their tails when I dust them.
DeleteThe blossom looks lovely through the window, love the sweet wee glass birds on the window sill 💙
ReplyDeleteLooks like those birdies are at hit with everyone, not just me.
