Not being a lover of housework this chore was at the very bottom of my isolation checklist, but it shouldn't have been because it is so much nicer to view the world through clean windows.
The jonquils have started to flower, and will do so over the coming months to brighten the dreary winter garden.
And a final bright spot, the sunsets are often spectacular at this time of year. The other day it was lovely through my shiny clean windows.
Now that's definitely looking on the bright side! Good for you Joan
ReplyDeleteThanks. I am feeling proud with myself.
DeleteOh well done Joan Elizabeth and you know what! You have just inspired me to clean mine tomorrow because I just thought today how much they needed a clean.. before tomorrow evening my windows will be beautiful and clean also, merci beaucoup for the push 😉 Well done on the gardening also, I have not been a slouch in that department, all ship-shape there 🌺🌼🌸
ReplyDeleteI do hope you managed to do the job, makes such a difference.
DeleteYou sure have a bright view of the world now.
ReplyDeleteYep. Feeling great.
DeleteGood for you! Clean windows and a growing garden!
ReplyDeleteThat is a spectacular sunset.
I've pretty much jettisoned things on my to-do list in favor of my garden but I finished the last and hardest of that today (cleaning out the long-neglected greenhouse to welcome some tomato plants). I suppose now I should fire up the list again and get to some of my own windows, too.
Your garden will be powering along just as mine is shutting down. A greenhouse - doesn't that mean more windows to clean?
DeleteWow, I'm impressed....clean windows! LOL! Mine still have marks from the painters when they were putting putty on the windows and, as the back of the house if quite high, there is no way I can reach them. I might have to hire someone to do them all at some stage but they will have to unscrew the security screens we had installed which I didn't realise were so hard to remove for cleaning. I love your sunset. How wonderful to have such a clear view of it.
ReplyDeleteI hate cleaning the windows. Still cold here.
ReplyDeleteHubby said, don' t, it will only get cold inside.
OK. When Hubby says so, I listen, of course ;-)
When frost is over I'll plant, too. Weird, weird weather...
When I think of Germany and Holland I think of shiny clean windows with lace curtains. Clean windows seemed to me to be a national obsession ... I don't think I would survive as a German housewife.
DeleteThat's a lovely sunset to have. So clear!
ReplyDeleteI am obsessed with the sunsets from the vantage point offered by this home. Nearly every day I go to look at sunset.
DeleteIt's a shame the job of cleaning windows is such a chore, because the reward of looking through clean glass is just wonderful. hankfully my husband has just cleaned ours. I took on the chore of giving both our cars a thorough clean, inside and out. Not that they are travelling very far, but the dust still gathers.
ReplyDeleteWe are back to very dry again here, so I am reluctant to plant too much. Love your sunset.
Cleaning the cars ... now that is a chore that should be on my list. At this time of year Burnbrae garden dumps heaps and heaps of yellow pollen from the pine trees that line the front of the property.
DeleteMy windows are very dirty and certainly need cleaning. However, it is not an easy job to do as at the back they are up high and cannot be reached unless on a ladder and that is far too dangerous! I think I will have to employ someone to come and do them for me.
