Season of mists

Autumn is a wonderful season, though a little melancholy in anticipation of the weather turning cold soon.

Rising to increasingly chilly morns, mist is usually found settling in the valley.

Out in the garden heavy dew (not yet frost) settles on the remaining flowers. And the trees are gently turning colour (Rose Orchard Haus doesn't turn on a big splash of Autumn brilliance).

And inside the stove is warm and cooking up a storm.  I have just had it refurbished with new fire bricks and seals.  The oven is now cooking wonderfully well and using less wood so I am very happy.

As we all #stayhome what is delighting you in your world at the moment?

    1. I was walking down the path and saw that rose standing tall and misted with dew drops, it demanded a photograph.

  2. I can just imagine how beautiful the Blue Mountains look in the early morning Joan Elizabeth. These chilly autumn mornings are a delight. It warmed up to 28C here today, perfect for our birthday lunch. Rainy week ahead though, am looking forward to it. It's certainly a strange world we live in at the moment, I have to wonder if some things will never go back to the way they were. Take care ✨

    1. This is not really the mountains, it is our garden west of the mountains which is where we stay other than when we need to return to the city for medical appointments. However, you are right the mountains are beautiful at this time of year with cloud settled into the valleys. Even though it has been a warm autumn is has been nothing as high at 28C and lucky lucky West Australians able to have birthday parties.

  3. Lovely shots!
I'm getting a lot of satisfaction from putting in my spring/summer garden. It's bigger than I've done in a while and I'm hoping for the best. And the recreation area across from our home is open for walking again which is a wonderful thing. Walking there is always great for recharging and rebalancing.

    1. I do hope you post some photos of your garden when it gets going Kay. I am glad you can get walking again. The more popular tracks in the mountains are closed but the track down from our house has been open (not that I have walked down there).

    1. I don't think there is a winter in Queensland and it looks like you are going to have it all to yourselves this year without us southerners migrating north to warm up. Vegetable soup is my husband's favourite.

  7. I've loved seeing your onset of the winter we don't have. I'm totally enjoying walking early, every day, with a non sweaty temperature hovering around 14C,
