Gulargumbone Street Art

This week I am taking you back to one of the towns we visited during our recent sweet wayfaring trip,  Gulargumbone the town with the lovely water tower art.  Here they are making the most of their little town which like many country towns has a lot of shuttered shops, but few are painted in these cheery colours.  This is a town with artistic flair.

Some years ago they decided to "brand" their town with galahs which are seen everywhere but these days that is not all there is to see.  This is about the best wire sculpture I have ever seen.

And lots of buildings and walls have images with a quirky sense of fun.

I hope you have enjoyed the tour.

    1. Yeh it has advanced a lot since we were there in 2015 http://sweetwayfaring.blogspot.com/2015/08/gulargumbone.html. It is clearly a town with a great spirit.

    1. It is an interesting town. Quite a way ‘out west’ so has an outback feel. Not quite as quirky as an opal town but in that direction.

    1. Was great to hear from you too. I always hoped you would visit Australia one day so we could meet in person but with the current situation that looks like a long way off even if you planned a trip.

    1. Yes we do occasionally see SPARs. Mostly in country towns and not a lot of them as they typically have IGA supermarkets.

    1. I love the name too. I am not sure there is a lot of visitors to the town as it is getting towards the remote part of the state. There is a great cafe run by local volunteers which seemed to be doing good trade the day we were there.
