Boo

For the past week or two there have been spooks watching me from a neighbouring apartment.

Being of an older generation before Halloween had taken on in Australia I am ambivalent about the celebration but it is nice to see people having fun.

At night they take on a ghostly glow.

  1. I have no interest in Halloween and feel that it is just another commercial push to get people to spend money on such ugly things. I wish we had Thanksgiving instead like they have in the US if we must celebrate on an extra day. I must be getting old. LOL!

    1. I agree Thanksgiving seems like a much nicer celebration. When I was a kid our church had an annual harvest festival thanksgiving which I loved ... the church was decorated with corn stalks, there were baskets of fruit and vegetables, and a fancy loaf of bread. We had a concert at night and the supper table had fruit salad which the ladies made earlier in the day while the men churned ice cream. It was wonderful.

  2. Nice photos Rose. I'm a bit too old to ever involved in Halloween. And I don't have a sweet tooth or a thing for horror so it's always been kind of lost on me. But I don't begrudge others their fun.

    1. We are on the same page ... except for the sweet tooth ... mine is very sweet.

  3. There hasn't been a lot of decor yet this year here.

    1. It was my Canadian nieces and nephews who helped me understand the fun of Halloween.

  4. I miss Halloween, now that we live in Penrith. Always in the Mountains we would have trick or treaters visiting our home and I would enjoy seeing them arrive and selecting treats from my basket of goodies. One of my friends once told me that there was a certain magic in the Mountains! However, going by your photos, there seems to be something happening down in your neighbourhood, so maybe this year we may see something afoot, further up the hill near our place.

    1. In Lawson I was only ever visited once or twice by trick or treaters so nothing for me to miss in moving to Penrith.

    1. Yes, I think they are cute. I have rather enjoyed having them peering at me. But the wind must be getting to them because periodically they collapse.
