This lovely mural by Christine Huynh is on hoarding around quite a large block in the centre of Penrith. It features native birds and flowers from the area. Inside the enclosure, City Park is being developed. It will be a 7000 square metre park with themed gardens, water features, natural shade, public artwork and large central lawn.
It sounds quite lovely, though like all new gardens I will probably take a few years to come into it's own and be a while before it reaches the beauty of the jacarandas currently gracing our streetscape.
What a lovely mural. We have several in our city too. They can be quite fascinating. Chel
ReplyDeleteI am wondering what will happen to all those beautiful paintings when the hoarding comes down.
DeleteHow wonderful for Penrith! The mural is beautiful and beckons one to see the garden. I wonder how long before it is complete.
ReplyDeleteIt is scheduled to be finished mid next year.
DeleteBeautiful work.
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteI cannot wait for this park to open. It promises to be a lovely space in our urban landscape. The Jacarandas are beautiful at this time of year.
ReplyDeleteI am keen for it to open too. I think it will be a huge asset.
