Seasonal Change

The weather is getting colder so I have begun the seasonal change -- lighting log fires, cooking warm soups and casseroles,  starting craft projects, watching the leaves change colour and admiring the dahlias.

Is there a seasonal change of activities at your place?

  1. Changing the bedding and the wardrobe contents always signals the change of seasons for me.

    1. I find the bedding and wardrobe confusing at this time of year - too hot or too cold, it never seems to be just right until the real chill sets in.

  2. I can't say I have noticed much of a seasonal change at our place yet, but I do have a very nice Dahlia plant that is flowering at the moment. There are also a few Autumn leaves turning red that look very nice. However, I have noticed that it is getting too cold for salads so I will be buying some soup to heat up for our lunches.

    1. I was down in Penrith last week and it was VERY warm in comparison to Kandos.

  3. We have heaps of dahlias in flower but my hubby saw a beautiful new one in Bunnings the other day and bought it although it was quite expensive. Last night a possum ate all the flowers off the plant 😳 It is now under cover 😅

    1. Sorry I meant to type my name after my comment about the dahlias. Chel

    2. I am so glad we don't seem to have possums in our garden. We are very close to bushland so hopefully they will stay happy with what they can eat there. I've not actually seen any or heard them thumping on the roof. I am just loving my dahlias which seem to be doing exceptionally well this year (and I thought last year they were great).

  4. I'm just loving the lack of humidity, and crisp clear skies that bring back the energy lost through summer. The negative is the dramatically shorter days.

    1. At this early part of the season we are not disturbed by the shorter days, we are just glad that daylight savings has gone and we have bright mornings again.

  5. That's a great loom. I had a friend who loved weaving, sadly she has passed away. We don't get a lot of change in the seasons. It's getting cooler and the days get shorter. We go on a road trip to the Downs to see the autumn leaves.

    1. Weaving is a new hobby for me. It is fun but I am not passionate about it. I saw your insta photo of the autumn leaves. Around here they are lighting up the place everywhere, just getting into full swing over the past week.
