It is such a wonderful time of year. The dahlias in my garden are flowering beautifully. The leaves are beginning to change colour dramatically. As we drive along the highways the golden poplar trees are like giant candle flames. The sun is shining brightly but is not hot.
I am intoxicated with the season's delights. I am like the little honeyeaters in the sage outside my kitchen door, coming back for more.
It is a lovely time of year after the dreadful summer with all the weather events. I was looking at some beautiful trees this morning as the leaves are a gorgeous colour. There has been a chill in the air so I don’t think winter is too far away.
ReplyDeleteSorry, that comment was from Chel. Jolly Blogger with its changes 😤
DeleteI think there will be frost soon. That will bring on the remaining colour.
DeleteYour garden looks beautiful. You are lucky to have a garden to escape to. The bird looks like the Eastern Spinebill. We had them in our garden at Winmalee. I love to see them hover!
ReplyDeleteYes it is an Eastern Spinebill. There are also New Holland honeyeaters frequenting the bush and sometimes wrens too. I too love to see the Spinebills hover.
DeleteYour garden in looking lovely, Joan.
ReplyDeleteThe garden pleases me but there are only every pockets of beauty, it is never beautiful all over at the same time. Even Autumn and Spring comes in dribs and drabs, not as one big splash like it used to do in our mountain garden.
