We are back from our winter escape to sunny Brisbane catching up with family and friends in unbelievably warm weather. We are now revived to face the rest of winter here, where they are forecasting 11C max later this week.
We caught the train there and back (a long and rewarding trip). The ornamental kale is at the parklands near Roma Street railway station. The city view is from near the art galleries on the south bank of the river.
Beautiful, sunny Brissie! I'm glad the weather was perfect for you.
ReplyDeleteThe weather was certainly perfect, beautifully warm without the humidity that I dislike about Brisbane later in the season.
DeleteBeautiful Brisbane. Yes, you are right, it sounds like a world away. It's always nice to escape to a warmer climate. I am not a lover of cold weather!
ReplyDeleteI find it makes a big difference to get away to someplace warm for a few weeks during the winter. Though just going to our place in Penrith feels like having a warm holiday from Kandos.
DeleteLovely gardens.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful sub-tropical gardens replacing what was a railway goods yard.
DeleteYour train trip to Brisbane would have been very nice I hope, as I have enjoyed a few train trips but not here in Adelaide. Many rail services here have been replaced by bus which I used when I worked as we have the O-Bahn system in the suburb I live in which is a very good system. Your photos of Brisbane are lovely and the warm weather makes everything much better. Spring/Summer can't come soon enough for me.
ReplyDeleteMany of the NSW country lines are now Countrylink bus services. Both the trains and buses are good (provided the bus trip is not too long).
DeleteHaven't been on the train to Brisbane. Might try it someday.
ReplyDeleteIt’s worth a go. We travelled first class which is a bit roomier. Also the daytime train rather than overnight.
