Goodbye Summer

It has been an odd summer, very hot and humid most of the time when we usually have low humidity at Kandos.  It has me looking forward to the cooler weather of autumn.   The bulbs that welcome the change of season are currently flower in our garden.

Because it has been too hot to be outside much of the time I stayed inside and progressed a patchwork project that I began ages ago. It has been a fun project using my husband's old neckties.

  1. What a lovely way to use up your husband's ties and to keep you busy in the hot weather. It has been a different summer here too, not much rain, hot days, cooler nights but the garden needs a lot of attention too.

    1. I find my gardens always need attention. Though I am very happy with mine right now as the weather has cooled and I was able to get on top of it.

    1. It is the very pretty colours and textures of ties which made me resurrect patchwork after many years of not doing any. Now I am dreaming up other projects to use up my fabric stash.

  3. This is my third try at leaving a comment so here goes. I love what you have done with the ties. I thought I might use up my husband's old ties somehow years ago but never got around to it. You have done a good job.

  4. A very successfu endeavour with the ties, Joan. We have slightly cooler days but the gales are back and we are stuck with the humidity.

    1. Humidity is why I can't cope with Queensland. Even going from inland Kandos to the Penrith nearer the coast the humidity level of very obvious to us.

    1. Up in the mountains the colour is happening. Also when the bus went through Portland on the weekend I noticed their trees are looking beautiful. I haven't seen much in Penrith though.
