Mid Winter Blues

I dislike winter and we are only half way through! We have been escaping to our apartment in Penrith as much as possible because the daily temperature is often as much as 5 degrees warmer than at Kandos. While we are there we frequently find ourselves doing things in the city, like this day at Darling Harbour where more and more glass towers have appeared in recent years.

With a spare day in your city where are you likely to go?

  1. Great photo. So many towers now. still a nice place to visit. I don't like winter either. Our days are warmish but the mornings are cold. the part of Brisbane I like is South Bank Parklands.

    1. South Bank Parklands would be my pick in Brisbane too. It's amazing how that has developed since expo on '88.

  2. I like to visit an art gallery. The SH Ervin gallery on Observatory Hill is a nice one.

    1. Art galleries are one of my picks too. I have only been to SH Ervin one. We went to the main NSW art gallery this week.

    1. I too think the river is magic in Brisbane but I rather like seeing the glass towers. I was amazed at how many more towers there were last time I visited.

  4. I am not fond of winter and always look forward to the warmer weather. My "go to" walk in winter is out my back gate and onto the Linear Park and to a great little coffee shop at the local Golf Course. It's not a long walk but is fairly easy for me and if I'm lucky I will see a koala.

    1. The coffee shops will be the death of us. So many of our walks in Penrith end up at a coffee shop undoing any of the good work for walking. It would be nice to have a walk that had koalas on the way, no chance of that in Penrith and they don't live around Kandos.
