Hearing the Word

We attended our Kandos Church this morning.  This is a photo of the back of the church taken in early morning sunlight several weeks ago.

Reflection:
Psalm 119:11 New International Version (NIV)
"I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you."

    1. I love a stone church but also think the corrugated iron or timber ones you see out in the bush are special too. Brick ones in modern designs are not quite the same.

  2. The sunlight on the bricks is heavenly Joan Elizabeth ✨

    1. Sunlight has a way of making photographs heavenly. Ansil Adams spoke of the “ever-present benediction of light”.

  3. It reminds me of a couple of countryside churches I have known.

    1. I think there might be a difference in church architecture between our countries. In north Amerca even the humblest of churches seem to have spires. That is not the case here.

  4. A beautiful church, nicely lit. Spires are sometimes overrated. We have a couple here that have plopped premade ones onto their roofs. It seems immodest somehow.

    1. This made me smile. A plopped on premade spire does seem a bit brash.

  5. There is something special about a stone church. They "feel" right.

    1. It feels right when I am worshiping as an Anglican, not so much so with other denominations.
