Trim

At the State Library there is an unexpected sculpture on the window sill. It is Trim who is "Matthew Flinders intrepid cat who circumnavigated Australia with his master 1801 - 1803".  The statue of Matthew Flinders is nearby.

A poem for today

  1. I was captivated by the statue of Trim when I saw it last year. I think there is a book about him.

    1. The first time I saw it was at nightime during a light display on Macquarie Street. For a brief moment I thought it was a real cat.

    1. I agree brave, can you imagine being a cat at sea even if it isn't a pea green boat. I wonder if it found any mice in the hold.

    1. Who would have thought a cat would become famous. The cafe at the State Library is called Trim too.

  5. I love that sculpture. His placement is so true to character and such a whimsical piece of art. I just loved that they found him significant enough to attach him to the Matthew Flinders tribute
